Sheriff of Nottingham (NL)

In the game Sheriff of Nottingham, the most successful traders in Nottingham offer the most exclusive goods, but the ever-vigilant Sheriff guards the checkpoint against this kind of ‘contraband’. Traders smuggle and the Sheriff inspects, but who is allowed to pass and who gets caught?

Players are cunning traders who have to bluff and bribe their way into the city. Each round, a new player plays the Sheriff who is looking for contraband and has to pay fines for inspecting honest traders, while traders who are caught smuggling have to pay a fine. Does the Sheriff believe you when you declare goods or will he want to inspect your purse? Or is it better to pay a bribe to be allowed to pass? At the end of the game, the trader with the most wealth wins!

This 2nd edition includes rules for six players, Deputy Sheriffs and the Black Market for a game with high risks and rewards!
