Play Booster Composition
A play booster contains 15 Magic: the Gathering cards from Modern Horizons 3. The composition of a play booster is as follows:
- 1 foil card with a rarity of common, uncommon, rare, or mythic rare*.
- 1 regular or alternate frame rare or mythic rare*.
- 1 wildcard with a rarity of common, uncommon, rare, or mythic rare*.
- 1 new-to-modern card with a rarity of uncommon, rare, or mythic rare*.
- 3 uncommons.
- 6 commons.
- 1 regular or full-art basic land card or a common card.
- 1 token or promotional card.
In a play booster, you always get at least one rare and always one foil card. Furthermore, one in seven boosters contains not a rare but a mythic rare! In addition, a play booster contains one new-to-modern reprint slot and two wildcard slots, one foil and one non-foil. Cards in the new-to-modern reprint slot and wildcard slot can have any rarity, from common to mythic rare.
*In these slots, you can find various alternate frame treatments, such as borderless art, retro-frame art, or Special Guest. The wildcard slot also features retro-frame reprints of select cards from Modern Horizons and Modern Horizons 2. The exception is the foil Special Guest, which can only be found in Collector Boosters.

Special guests are unique reprints of powerful cards with brand-new borderless art. In every booster, you have the chance to find a special guest card. These reprints are powerful, sought-after cards, or the cards perfectly match the theme of the set they're in.
