Previously you had the choice between draft, set or collector boosters to collect your new cards. Collector boosters remain unchanged and are still the go-to booster for special foils, special borders and exclusives. Draft and set boosters have been replaced by play boosters. Play boosters have been specially developed with booster draft and sealed deck in mind, but ripping boosters also remains exciting until the last card thanks to the increased chance of showcase cards and rares or mythic rares!

A play booster contains 15 Magic: the Gathering cards from Bloomburrow. The composition of a play booster looks like this:

- 1 rare or mythic rare.

- 1 wildcard slot, can be any rarity.

- 1 foil card, can be any rarity.

- 3 uncommons.

- 6-7 commons*.

- 1 full art basic land.

- 1 art card, token or advertising card.

In a play booster you always get at least one rare and always one foil card. Furthermore, in one in seven boosters you will not find a rare but a mythic rare! In some boosters you will find a Special Guest card instead of a common. In addition, play boosters contain two wildcard slots, one foil and one non-foil. Cards in the wildcard slot can have any rarity, from common to mythic rare. Showcase cards come in two variations, the Woodland Frame and the Borderless Field Notes.

Specials guests are special reprints of powerful cards with brand new borderless art. In every booster you have the chance to find a special guest card. These reprints are powerful, sought-after cards or the cards fit perfectly thematically with the set they are in.
