'The List of Violet Sopjes' by David Vlietstra is a special and funny story about a girl who does things a little differently than usual. 11-year-old Violet has a fantastic idea: this school year she wants to play with every child in her class once. She hangs the list of names in her bedroom and slowly starts ticking everyone off. Violet soon discovers that there are some very special types in her class. She experiences the strangest things with her classmates and reports on them extensively in notebooks, as if she is keeping a diary. But when Violet discovers that there is a more urgent problem than finishing the class list, the story takes an unexpected turn.
